What is it?
How does it work?
Why is red, red Dad?
Where does rain come from Mom?
How do birds fly Grandma?
Children are born scientists. They are curious and yearn to interact with the world around them. During the first 5 years of a child's life trillions of brain-cell connections are formed through experiences that will shape your child's development. City Kids school intentionally creates an engaging environment that allows kids to explore a range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities. City Kids gain confidence in their STEM skills while discovering electronics, gears, biology, architecture, and more! Teachers lead each child's discovery through asking open-ended questions, concentrating on "what" questions to engage in learning conversations and to provoke further inquiry. The purpose of these conversations is to encourage children to seek deeper knowledge, ask more questions, and develop strong observation skills.
What did you see?
What did you do?
What new ideas can you try?
What do you think will happen if…..?
What do you want to see happen?
To further support STEM learning, City Kids developed a makers space designed to pique kids' interest in building, inventing, and developing new ideas. Our makers space encourages hands-on exploration and provides an array of tools and materials for kids to interact with.
